Zen Pets is proudly owned by two responsible and dedicated local teens. Jonathan is a Hays High graduate now pursuing his college degree, and Avery is a highly-motivated student on track to graduate high school a year early before attending UT.

At Zen Pets, our approach comes from the heart. We’ve had pets since we can remember, so we know they aren't just animals—they're family. Our mission is to give you complete peace of mind by providing the same loving, respectful care for your pets that we've always given our own. We treat them like the cherished family members they are, because that's exactly what they deserve.
Our journey began with a shared passion for animals and a desire to fill a need for trustworthy, professional pet care in our community. We are dedicated to continuous learning in animal behavior and welfare to ensure the highest standards of service.
Having cared for animals our entire lives, our experience spans a wide range of beloved companions, including dogs, cats, Guinea pigs, and even geckos! We also specialize in working with deaf animals, providing them with the unique care, communication, and patience they require to thrive.

Avery (16): A junior in high school who is diligently saving for college, demonstrating responsibility and a strong work ethic in caring for your pets.

We'll stay in your home from 8 PM to 7 AM to ensure your pet feels safe and sticks to their routine.

What is your service area?

Do you offer a free meet-and-greet?
Yes, we do! Click any "Book Now" or "Schedule" button to get started. We want to be sure your pet is happy and comfortable with us.
How do I book your services?
Click any "Book Now" button. You'll be asked if your pet needs medication. If yes, you'll fill out a quick waiver, and if no, you'll go straight to the calendar.
What is your cancellation policy?
A cancellation fee of $5 will be charged if your appointment is not cancelled at least 2 hours prior to the scheduled time.
How will I receive updates about my pet?
We can send photo updates via text upon request.
Do you have experience administering medication?
Yes, we administer prescribed medications in pill or liquid form, provided they are in their original labeled containers. When you click to book, please select "Yes" when asked about medication. You will be prompted to fill out our medication waiver form before you can book. Please provide detailed instructions in the waiver and/or your booking notes.
Can you tell me more about your experience with deaf animals?
Growing up we had a dog named Sarge who was a "Double Merle." We had an amazing 10 years of life with him before he passed at the age of 16. He was the first pet we ever knew and we miss him dearly. He taught us patience and we grew up learning how to communicate by sign. He was just an amazing friend to have at such a young age.
